Athabasca Delta Community School
Fort Chipewyan is accessible by air 9 months of the year (a winter road is constructed each fall). ADCS is a unique school in that students from kindergarten to grade 12 cross paths each day providing younger students with excellent role models.
ADCS offers a regular compliment of core subjects. Junior and senior students can also enrol in industrial arts, home economics / food studies and computer courses. We offer daily physical activity for students in grades 1 to 10 and boast one of the strongest physical education programs in the Division.
The school has 1 resource room teacher and 1 Precision Reading specialist who assist students with reading comprehension. ECS and grade 1 students are engaged in Animated Literacy learning activities on a daily basis.
In the Fall of 2008 ADCS had 4 SMART Interactive White Boards installed and in the Spring of 2009 each classroom was equipped with a media cart.
